Title: General Manager, CEE

What are your job responsibilities?

I’m responsible for everything connected to the office in Warsaw and the CEE region. That includes overseeing our go-to-market strategy, managing relationships with key clients and partners, running critical financial and operational processes, building and managing the  local team, and undertaking final P&L responsibilities.

How long have you been at DELVE?

Since early March 2021.

What does a typical work day look like for you?

In the morning, when the US is sleeping, I’m reading through articles and going through all the knowledge collected by DELVE, so I can get familiar with case studies and solutions we’ve deployed. Because I’m still new, this is my time for learning and getting up-to-speed on projects we’ve done in the past. Then I focus on recruitment. We have a couple of ongoing recruitments here in Poland. I usually book two hours in the morning for taking calls with the candidates.

Then usually after the morning schedule, I move to one-on-ones with employees here in the office and people in this time zone, plus I have multiple touch points with clients and prospects. And in the afternoon, I usually book time for touch points with US colleagues, either on delivery or on the strategy side. I spend time designing strategy while trying to catch up on all the ongoing operational topics.

What is the best part of your job?

Contact with people. That’s always been my favorite part of my work. It’s difficult now, but I like to be surrounded by people, to talk to them, brainstorm with them, solve problems with them. It doesn’t matter if it’s our team, or an external team, or a potential client’s teamcinephile, wine coinisseur and —whenever we can go into problem-solving mode and discuss some complex issue, I feel like I’m in heaven.

How do you stay connected with teammates even when working remotely?

The positive side is that we are not 100% remote, because we have a coworking space here in Warsaw. Each week I’ve had an opportunity to spend one day in the office. The situation is still difficult right now, but I think with time, we’ll have more and more opportunities to meet each other.

I’m also able to meet with clients for status meetings. Otherwise, after a year of digital meetings, I think I’ve just gotten used to it. I try to start meetings with small talk in order to stay more normal. And I’m always preparing for a work day in the same way I would do it if I were going to the office. As long as my camera is not broken, I put it on, and I try to act like I’m in a normal office.

What are you excited about, work-wise, in 2021?

I know it might not be exciting to most people, because it’s a difficult topic for the industry, but I’m excited about cookie-less and the opportunities it creates for first-party data. And of course, I’m excited about the region and how we’re going to grow, and what kind of clients we’re going to have, and how we can help serve brands and solve their problems.

What are some characteristics of people who do well at DELVE?

I think passion, hard work, and expertise in the field form a great trio for the people who are successful here.

My favorite mar tech tool is…

Everything what makes my work and cooperation with others more efficient: e.g.,  Asana, GSuite, Slack.

Outside of work, you can find me…

Normally, as in pre-COVID, you could find me in the cinema, at restaurants and wine tastings, traveling, hiking, or sailing.

Something few people know about me is…

I’ve watched Lord of The Rings like a thousand times. 🙂 And being hungry makes me totally unbearable, more angry than when facing the worst mistake ever.

This year, I’m planning to DELVE DEEPER into…

I’m planning to DELVE deeper into DELVE! I’m looking forward to focusing on getting to know people here and understanding our solutions inside and out.
